Add small velvet bows to your tree in ice blue and lavender, with teal chenille ties.

Gather your supplies

• One ice-blue velvet ribbon roll, RGE765848.
• One lavender velvet ribbon roll, RGE765813.
• One bag of 50 teal chenille stems, MA200233.
• Your tree or display, measuring tool, sharp scissors and a tool suitable for cutting chenille wire.

Each ribbon roll is 7/8 inch wide and 10 yards long. For a single-color set, buy two rolls of either linked ribbon instead.

Cut, tie and attach

1. Plan 12 approximately 20-inch ribbon pieces per color. Cut four 20-inch chenille stems into six 3-inch ties each, giving 24 ties.
2. For each bow, make a loop about one-third of the way from each ribbon end. Tie those two loops together. Adjust the loops and tails with the velvet facing forward, leaving the knot loose.
3. Slip a 3-inch tie through the back of the loose knot. Twist the tie to secure it, then tighten the ribbon knot.
4. Rest the bow on a branch and wrap the tie around it. Bend the ends inward. Repeat for the remaining bows.

Try the first bow and tie on your intended branch before cutting the whole set. The teal tie may show.

The ribbon plan allocates 480 nominal inches from 720 purchased, leaving 240 inches. You also retain 46 whole stems and four 2-inch offcuts, before extra practice or trimming.
