Wreath Forms Guide
Not sure which wreath form to grab? Every wreath starts with a base, and the base decides how you build everything on top of it.
Here's a simple breakdown of the form types we carry and the sizes on our shelves.
What types of wreath forms are there?
- Work wreath forms are wire forms with ties built in. They're made for mesh and ribbon wreaths.
- Pencil work wreath forms are another work wreath style. We list them with the same wire and tie details.
- Tinsel work wreath forms are work forms wrapped in tinsel.
- Grapevine wreaths give you a natural, rustic base. They're popular with florals and ribbon instead of mesh.
- Flat frames like the Pancake Wreath Frame give you a flat build.
What sizes do work wreath forms come in?
Most of our work wreath forms list two numbers. For example: 15" wire, 25" OAD, 18 ties.
- 15" wire is the size of the wire frame itself.
- 25" OAD is the overall diameter.
- 18 ties is how many ties the form has for attaching mesh, ribbon and picks.
We also carry a small pencil work wreath form listed at 10–20" and a tinsel work wreath form listed at 15–24". Colors vary by listing, so pick the one that blends with your mesh.
What sizes do grapevine wreaths come in?
Our own grapevine wreaths come in round and oval:
- Round: 14", 16" and 18"
- Oval: 16" and 18"

What is the Pancake Wreath Frame?
The Pancake Wreath Frame bundle comes with a 14" frame, a 10" frame and a sign extender center. The frames are 1/4" thick. You build in notches with pipe cleaners, and the smaller holes near the center hold your sign and bow.
Which wreath form should I use?
It depends on the wreath:
- Building with deco mesh and ribbon? Start with a work wreath form.
- Want a rustic look with florals? Grab a grapevine wreath.
- Want a flat, layered build? Try the Pancake Wreath Frame.

What does OAD mean on a work wreath form?
OAD is the overall diameter. A form listed as 15" wire, 25" OAD has a 15-inch wire frame and measures 25 inches across overall.
What wreath base is best for deco mesh?
Work wreath forms suit mesh and ribbon wreaths. Grapevine wreaths often skip mesh entirely.
Do you sell oval grapevine wreaths?
Yes. We carry 16" and 18" oval grapevine wreaths, plus 14", 16" and 18" round.
